Gerry Fahy commenced his career as a Transmission Engineer in 1980 and moved into general business management in 1990. Since then, he has been responsible for Business Planning and Strategy development in Vodafone Ireland (previously Eircell), with a particular emphasis on the Regulatory and Corporate affairs. Gerry has previously worked in a number of roles in including overseas business development where he spent two years as chief advisor to the CEO of MATAV, the Hungarian telephone company. Gerry is a member of the executive team which grew the business of Vodafone Ireland from 50,000 customers in 1995 to 1,900,000 ml customers in 2003. Gerry has been a Director of Vodafone Ireland since May 2001. Gerry holds an Engineering degree and a MBA from University College Dublin, and is Vice-Chairman of the Telecommunications and Internet Federation of IBEC.
